One Just World is to hold a forum on the topic, Is Australian Aid Fair Dinkum?

‘In a world where we have achieved so much, from quantum leaps in medical research to the development of sophisticated technologies, it seems implausible that there are more hungry people in the world today than the populations of the United States, Canada and the European Union combined.’

PiPP’s Executive Director, Derek Brien will be joining a panel of experts as they discuss the independent review of aid effectiveness.

Other panelists include the Deputy Director – General, Asia Pacific and Program Enabling Group, AusAID, James Batley, the Director of the Development Policy Centre, ANU and a member of the independent aid effectiveness review panel, Stephen Howes and the Chief Executive of CARE Australia, Dr. Julia Newton-Howes.

The moderator for the forum is a Professor of Finance from the University of NSW, Satish Chand.

The panel will discuss the challenges faced and identifying the best approaches to adopt in order for change to come about.

The forum is on Tuesday, 13 September 2011 at the Old Parliament House.
