Our research program for 2009 focuses on four major policy themes: trade, infrastructure, gender and governance. At PiPP we strive to ensure that our research projects reflect genuine two-way communication flows between researchers and all stakeholders, and deliver practical policy outcomes. Â Research approaches engage with and build on current development theories, and are sensitive to gender and social inclusion issues.Â
Â
We work with our stakeholders to identify development challenges that would benefit from increased research and policy debate. Â Stakeholders include key interlocutors and policy leaders within:
- government (elected leaders, political advisors, civil servants)
- development agencies (intergovernmental organisations, multilateral and bilateral aid donors, international NGOs, regional forums and networks)
- the academic sector (universities, colleges and technical experts)
- civil society (community based organisations, NGOs, churches, media).
Â
We invite experts and academics to join us in producing relevant research joint ventures.
